Hiding players
Use invisibility when a player should still be in the scene but not visible. Use vanish when you want to hide yourself from other players while setting things up or filming.
Invisibility (/invis) (Premium)
Premium
Invisibility is part of ScriptedEssentials Premium. See what's in each edition.
/invis [player]
/invis off [player]
/invis keep <player> <on|off> # keep it through death and relogs/invis applies the effect; running it again doesn't turn it off. Use /invis off to remove it.
invisibility.default-duration is how long it lasts in seconds, 0 to stay on until toggled off. hide-death-messages and hide-kill-messages stop an invisible player's deaths and kills turning up in chat and giving them away. See Player & combat.
Armour and held items still show, same as the vanilla effect. For the version that hides those too, brew a true invisibility potion in the Potion Lab in /itemmaker.
Vanish (/vanish)
/vanishAlias /v. Hides you from other players. Run it again to become visible. This is separate from the vanilla invisibility effect.
It holds when people join, so someone logging in while you're vanished still can't see you.
Opening chests silently
While vanished you can open containers without the lid animation or the sound. Right-click a chest, barrel, trapped chest or shulker box and you get a live copy of what's inside.
Changes go into the real chest, and anything that changes in the real chest shows up in your view. Sneak and right-click to place a block instead.
