Lite and Premium
ScriptedEssentials comes in two builds. Lite is free on Modrinth. Premium is the full plugin, a one-time $19.99 on BuiltByBit.
Everything in these docs is Lite unless the page says otherwise. Premium-only pages and sections are marked with a tip like this one.
What Premium adds
- NPCs you can skin, dress, send down walking paths, play recorded movement on, and group into armies with
/march. - PlayerReplay, which records players and plays them back as NPCs.
- Shroud, which hides your world from players you don't trust.
- A mod checker that catches world downloaders, Replay Mod and Flashback when people join.
- Teams and queues.
- Hidden coordinates, chunk bans and per-player view limits with
/limit. - Chunk save and restore, random fill, build and break modes, container locks, the villager trade editor and sign alerts.
- Fake joins, leaves and deaths,
/cycle, recording borders, invisibility, sudo and pause effects. - The item maker, armour trims, random kits and random nicknames.
- Voice chat tools, if you run Simple Voice Chat.
Installing Premium
The jar you download from BuiltByBit is a loader, not the plugin itself. Drop it in plugins/ and start the server like any other plugin.
On first start it runs in limited mode until an op activates it. Run /se activate with no key and a window opens where you can paste your key privately, without it ever showing up in chat or the console. /se activate <key> works too, including from the console.
Once a key validates, it's saved and the plugin downloads itself and starts. From then on it checks in and updates itself automatically every time the server restarts, no re-downloading by hand.
If activation fails, the console and chat tell you why. /se support gets you the Discord link even while the licence is acting up.
Moving from Lite
Drop the Premium jar in alongside your existing Lite setup and restart.
- Premium copies your Lite kits, warps and settings over on its first start, as long as Lite's folder is still there.
- Lite checks for the full plugin on startup and turns itself off if it finds it, so you don't end up running both. Remove the Lite jar once you've confirmed Premium is working.
Getting help
/se supportOpens the Discord link. It works even when your licence check is failing, so you're never locked out of support.
Lite has its own version of this: /sepremium opens a dialog listing what Premium adds, with a button straight to the BuiltByBit page.
