Blacklist & name filter

Use the blacklist for specific names you don't want selected at random. The word filter is separate: it checks text for blocked words rather than just matching the names you've listed.

Blacklist

The blacklist is a plain text file, settings/blocked-names.txt, one name per line. Add the names you don't want picked, then run /se reload or restart.

Blacklisted names are kept out of random nicknames and the random name pool, and you can't give them to NPCs or queue mannequins.

Typing /nick <name> by hand still works. It's there to keep the random pool clean, not to police what people type.

Name filter

yaml
nickname:
  filter:
    # Blocks Cyrillic and accented characters (still slur-checked)
    allow-unicode: false
    custom-blocked-words: []

The built-in blocked-word checks still apply; custom-blocked-words adds your own entries.

allow-unicode: false restricts characters such as Cyrillic and accented letters. Still check the names and text used in your recording; a filter isn't a guarantee that nothing unwanted will get through.

custom-blocked-words adds yours on top.

Signs and books

Same word list runs on signs and books. Someone writes a blocked word on a sign, ops get told who, what and where.

For an alert on every sign edit, not just blocked ones, see /signalerts on the Chat page.
