Chat & Messaging
These settings help keep chat clear while you're recording. You can mute normal chat, change join and leave messages, or stop players using specific commands.
Clearing chat (/clearchat)
/clearchat # everyone's
/clearchatself # just yourschat:
enable-clear-chat: true
show-clear-message: true
clear-message: "&7Chat has been cleared by an administrator."
clear-lines: 100show-clear-message: false does it quietly.
Muting chat (/chatmute)
/chatmute <on|off>Alias /mutechat. Blocks chat for non-ops and announces it. Written to config.yml as chat.muted, so it survives restarts.
While muted, /me is blocked for everyone and private messages for non-ops.
Broadcast (/broadcast)
/broadcast <message>Alias /bc. To everyone, & colours work.
Join and leave messages
/togglejoinmessages <on|off>
/togglequitmessages <on|off>join-messages:
enabled: true
format: "&e%player% joined the game"
leave-messages:
enabled: true
format: "&e%player% left the game"%player% is the only placeholder.
You can also limit real join and leave messages to nearby players:
/joinmsgradius 50
/leavemsgradius 50Use 0 to remove the radius limit. /quitmsgradius is an alias for /leavemsgradius. These commands require scriptedessentials.admin.
Fake join and leave (Premium)
Premium
Fake join and leave messages are part of ScriptedEssentials Premium. See what's in each edition.
/fakejoin <player>
/fakeleave <player>A join or leave for something that didn't happen. Same format as the real ones, so you can't tell them apart.
Private messages (/disablemsg)
/disablemsg <player>Blocks /msg, /tell, /w and /whisper to that player, minecraft: and bukkit: versions included. Run it again to undo.
Command feedback (/commandfeedback)
/commandfeedback [on|off]Aliases /cmdfeedback, /cf. Flips the sendCommandFeedback gamerule in every loaded world at once. This controls vanilla command feedback; it doesn't silence every message sent by every plugin.
On top of that, feedback from common admin commands is hidden from other players automatically. Gamemode, nick, skin, halfheart, invis, warp, kit and worldtp all get filtered, so using them mid-take doesn't spam everyone.
During a recording session, admin broadcasts about teleports, gamemode, giving items, time, weather and op changes are dropped too.
Command blocker (/cb)
/cb <on|off>
/cb add <command>
/cb remove <command>
/cb list
/cb reloadAlias /commandblocker. Blocks specific commands for non-ops. /tp, /gamemode, anything the cast shouldn't be touching mid-take.
Ops always get through
The blocker skips ops. For ScriptedEssentials features, /sefeatures can remove the feature's commands. It doesn't disable unrelated commands from Minecraft or other plugins.
Sign and book filtering
Signs and books get checked against the same word list as nicknames. Someone writes a blocked word on a sign, ops get told who, what and where, with a sound.
Alert on every sign (/signalerts) (Premium)
Premium
/signalerts is part of ScriptedEssentials Premium. See what's in each edition.
/signalerts <on|off>That's an alert on every sign placed or edited, with the text and coordinates, not just ones with a blocked word. Catches things before they end up in a shot.
Action bar
messages:
use-action-bar: trueShort confirmations on the action bar instead of in chat. Keeps chat clean when you're running a lot of commands.
