Armies

Premium

This is part of ScriptedEssentials Premium. See what's in each edition.

Armies are for moving a group of NPCs along the same route. Place the route points, choose the formation and equipment, then start the march.

commands
/march

Alias: /army. Needs scriptedessentials.admin.

Laying the route

commands
/march wand # get the route wand
/march point # drop a point where you're standing
/march point undo # remove the last one
/march point clear # start again
/march route # list the points

Use the wand or /march point, whichever is easier. The NPCs walk the points in order.

Who marches

commands
/march count <n> # how many
/march kit <name|none> # what they wear
/march skin <player|random> # one shared skin, or a different one each
/march speed <walk|sprint>

The formation

commands
/march pattern <random|box|diagonal|wedge>
/march width <n> # NPCs per row
/march spacing <blocks> # gap between them
/march jitter <blocks> # random scatter so it isn't a perfect grid

The NPCs follow the route in formation. Leave enough space around corners and test the route with a small group before increasing the count.

The end of the route

commands
/march endbox <on|off> # form up in a box at the end
/march boxside <wide> [deep] # box size
/march boxgap <blocks> # gap between boxes
/march facing <north|south|east|west|route|degrees>
/march flow <on|off> # loop the route so it never empties

With endbox on, they arrive and fill a box in the order they turn up, facing whatever facing says. route faces the way they were walking.

flow sends them round again when they reach the end, so there's always someone on the route. Good for a background of people walking past.

Starting and stopping

commands
/march start # spawn them and march
/march end # remove this army
/march end all # remove every army
/march status # what everything's set to

Army NPCs are ordinary NPCs while they exist. You can knock them about, they take damage, and /npc sees them.
